Kirdford Parish Council are looking to appoint a Clerk (30 hours a week) to support them with all administrative and financial duties applicable to the role. This is an interesting and varied post supporting an active, community focused Parish Council.
The Clerk’s responsibilities include producing agendas and minutes for all Council meetings and committees, liaising with outside bodies, actioning the Council’s decisions, acting as the Council’s financial officer and keeping the Council’s financial records.
The Clerk will be required to work from home and have their own transport. Some evening and out of hours work is required. The successful candidate will have good financial and bookkeeping skills, be computer literate and be familiar with local government law, procedures and finance. Relevant qualifications (CiLCA) is desirable, however full training will be given to work towards achieving the necessary qualifications. The role requires initiative, integrity and self-motivation. Candidates should have good organisational and interpersonal skills.
Salary to be commensurate with experience according to NJC rates. Candidates with previous experience in the field preferred.
